In New York City, the lack of black art found in galleries is astounding. In a study where CUNY’s Guttman College analyzed the demographics of 1,300 artists represented by New York City’s top 45 commercial galleries, the college found that 80.5% of artists represented are white.

Xposure International, a creative agency promoting entrepreneurship through the exposure of art, presents a unique opportunity for black creatives – visual artists, performing artists, photographers, stylists, models, and more – to generate awareness of their art, services, and talents.

Friday, June 29, 2018, the platform launched with ‘A Night of Illumination’, a live blog activation furthering the platform’s mission of encouraging creative entrepreneurship and engaging its community in the creation, appreciation, and support of African Diaspora art at Legendary Republic on 258 Johnson Ave in Brooklyn, New York

During the event, attendees enjoyed an art showcase featuring live art, artwork, photography, and performances. “Xposure is my passion and a solution to highlighting creatives of the African Diaspora who are often overlooked in mainstream media,” said Korpo Jonel, Creator of Xposure International. “Through Xposure, I hope to raise awareness about creatives of color in New York City and across the world, ultimately inspiring people through their work.”
